Bourke Street Maitland, by Cynthia Hunter
Maitland City Heritage Committee decided to prepare a condensed version of the historical report on Bourke Street, the land Mary Hunt (Molly Morgan) was granted. In 1834 she sold it to John Burke, the land was eventually sub-divided and Bourke Street was the principal street of this development.
The use of historical photographs and a series of especially commissioned drawings of Bourke Street houses by Maitland artist Marea Kozaczynski-McCraig, together with key historical maps has created an unusual publication aimed at fostering the appreciation of this street of diverse and historical homes.
