How do you add flesh to the family history bones that you have already found? The bones may probably include information on the date of birth, marriage, death, children's names and birth dates, for members of the family overseas or details prior to the records created in Australia.

As mentioned previously it is advisable to check sources available within Australia before paying money for a researcher to look for you overseas.

A lot of these resources are held locally and these records can be obtained from the indexes and records now available.

Following the failure of the 1848 rising, O'Brien was sentenced to death, and this petition was collected to gain clemency for the rebel leader. As a consequence his sentence was commuted and O'Brien was transported to Australia for life.
