I began photographing the headstones at Stockton Cemetery at the end of November 2002 and completed the project mid 2003. This index of some 2,500 mames is compiled from transcriptions of the headstones in the cemetery up until mid 2003 and does not include the burials where there was no headstone or the headstones have disappeared.
It is believed the original Stockton Cemetery was where Fullerton Road forks off to go to the old punt wharf. Circa 1890 certain remains, slabs and headstones were removed from the area to the new Stockton Cemetery in Fullerton Road, one of the headstones was dated 1861.
All care has been taken to provide the correct information, however if you would like to correct any information or add to the index any other burials at Stockton you know of, please contact me.
